Bio
Dixie was born in the hills of Alabama. Raised on her mama's love and her granddaddy's moonshine, she was never one to back down to any challenge. Always up to something and questioning everything, her parents knew this middle child would be a handful. Alabama was a good start, but there's only so much fun stuff a girl can do in a small town before people start talking. Looking for an escape, she followed her love of frijoles con queso, siestas and — her current trademark — mustaches to the deserts of Mexico with high hopes and the Dixieland wind at her back. One too many bar fights and a brief tequila fueled marriage left Dixie with a new last name, Sanchez, and a powerful need to get out of town.
Dixie found herself in Austin, Texas with no friends, no money and no idea what to do next. She happened upon a roller derby game one day, damn near fell out from wanting to skate so bad, and never turned back. It took a few years of practice, but Dixie finally got her wheels under her and has emerged as a force on and off the track. This sport's the only thing in life she's ever been sure about and she immediately felt right at home with the bad girls and the good women of TXRD. Don't be fooled by her southern charm — this girl's not takin' sh*t from anyone. Get in her way and you'll find yourself running for the border.
